Jax Taylor’s rep admitted that the Vanderpump Rules alum “made errors” in his divorce filing to estranged wife Brittany Cartwright, saying the mistakes “will be amended without delay.”
Jax Taylor is owning up to some inaccuracies.
After agreeing to give estranged wife Brittany Cartwright legal custody of their 3-year-old son Cruz in his divorce filing, the Vanderpump Rules alum admitted that the legal paperwork—which was handwritten and self-submitted—contained some mistakes.
“While Jax made errors in filling out forms that are usually done by trained legal professionals,” Jax’s rep shared in a statement to E! News Oct. 2, “those errors will be amended without delay.”
And while the statement didn’t specify which parts of his filing were incorrect, his rep did add some clarity on the couple’s custody agreement, explaining, “Jax and Brittany have already long resolved all matters related to custody of Cruz, and will continue to work together privately for the best interest of their son, which remains their overriding concern.”
Shortly after submitting his court documents, Jax provided further insight into his feelings on his current situation. In fact, the 45-year-old shared a cryptic message expressing his hope for a better future amid his split from Brittany, who first announced their breakup in February.
“From October to December,” read a quote by Mindset Raptors shared to Jax’s Instagram Story Oct. 2, “your life is going to change for the better.”
And while The Valley star didn’t refer to any specific changes, his personal life certainly looks a lot different as of late. Seven months after announcing their separation, Brittany filed for divorce from Jax following four years of marriage. In the court documents obtained by E! News at the time, the Bravo personality marked their official date of separation as Jan. 24 and requested sole custody of Cruz, though she noted that she was open to having Jax receive visitation time.
The following month, Jax filed his own paperwork, which provided a different date of separation—Sept. 26, the day of his filing—and agreed to give his ex full legal and physical custody of their son, according to documents obtained by E!. He also entered conflicting info by checking a box saying they were “never legally married,” as well as another box saying they were indeed married.
Through it all, Jax—who entered treatment for mental health struggles in July—has been candid about embarking on a journey of self-improvement.
“Working on getting better for you buddy,” Jax wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of himself kissing Cruz in July. “I love you.”
