Austin Stowell, best known for dating Nina Dobrev in 2015, recently made lighthearted comments about his love life as he gears up for the premiere of *NCIS: Origins*, a prequel to the long-running *NCIS* series, narrated by Mark Harmon. Instead of focusing on romance, the *Bridge of Spies* actor joked that he’s currently committed to the 300 people involved in the show’s production.
In an interview published on October 14, Austin said, “I’m in a relationship with a TV show. I’m here Monday through Friday. Remember those 300 people I mentioned? They’re all my boyfriends and girlfriends.”
Although the 39-year-old actor, who split from *Degrassi* star Nina Dobrev after seven months of dating in February 2016, isn’t seeing anyone at the moment, he revealed that when he does start dating again, “kindness” will be a top priority.
“I think the way someone treats others—whether on the street or anywhere—can tell you a lot about who they are,” Austin explained.
While his romantic life may be on hold, Austin has forged a close working relationship with Mark Harmon, who returns to narrate and executive produce *NCIS: Origins*. Austin noted how Harmon’s humility sets the tone on set. “He always begins conversations by asking, ‘Do you need anything?’ It’s incredibly disarming, especially coming from someone as globally recognized as him.”
Austin also expressed his gratitude for being trusted with the role of a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs, a character Harmon spent 20 years bringing to life. “It’s a huge honor. I knew I had something inside me that felt very Gibbs-like, and being chosen to play this role is a real confidence boost. It’s something I take a lot of pride in.”
