Kylie Jenner is standing firm against critics questioning her nostalgia for her teenage years.
The Kylie Cosmetics founder fired back at a social media commenter who suggested she was overly fixated on her younger self amid posts marking the 10th anniversary of her makeup brand, which she started as a teen.
“Why be so obsessed with your child self tho lol,” the user commented on Kylie’s Instagram. “I don’t get it.”
Kylie countered by highlighting her early achievements. “Because she BUILT @kyliecosmetics ?? and deserves to be celebrated after a decade of being an icon!!!!!” she replied. “Bye!!!! i’m obsessed with her!!!!!!!”
Earlier this month, the Kardashians star—who shares kids Stormi, 7, and Aire, 3, with ex Travis Scott—revived her “King Kylie” persona, re-releasing products from her debut line like metallic lip glosses, the King Kylie eyeshadow palette, and her signature lip kits.
“This King Kylie Collection is truly for you!!!” she posted on Instagram. “You’re the reason my biggest cosmetic dreams came true, and I wouldn’t be here.. 10 years later! without your support.”
As a thank-you to fans, Kylie aimed to deliver “exactly what you’ve been waiting for.” “From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being on this journey with me,” she added. “I hope this collection makes you as happy as you’ve made me.”
Kylie—who is dating Timothée Chalamet—also embraced the throwback vibe with a music debut, singing on Terror Jr’s new single “Fourth Strike.”
“I was soooooo nervous but so grateful,” she captioned Instagram photos from the recording studio. “@thacarterb I couldn’t have done it without you thank you for setting me up with such an amazing team @bschoudel @kshmr and @jbach !! & my baby @makeupbyariel !!!!! for supporting me and loving me.”
