Gemma Wren is an English stage and film actor and producer. She was born Gemma Warren in Hackney, London on May 31, 1996. She is a daughter of Fine Art and Cinematic Photographer Lisa Warren (Decozar) and Dean Warren.
Wren attended Raines Foundation school, in Bethnal Green and remained there for college, studying Drama and Theatre studies for 4 years, including English Literature and Sociology. After graduating from college, she decided to pursue acting alongside working part and full time hospitality jobs.
In 2016, Wren played the lead role in a theatre play production, ‘Godface’ written by Robert K. den Englesman, originally performed by the ‘Matriark Theatre’ company based in Australia, and performed in the ‘Shuffle’ festival. She also played the lead in a short film, created for the company ‘MSC’, including voice-over work. The short film has been translated into five different languages and will be used mainly for educational purposes. The short film also won an award from the Georgraphical Association and was shown at the Paris Oceangraphic Institution. She is also involved in several short films including the award winning short, ‘HotHed’.
During March 2020, Wren also took on her first producing job for the short film, ‘I Can’t Breathe’, which won the Unscripted Category awarded by the Royal Television Society.
In addition, Wren has a deep love of music and from the age of thirteen, self taught herself guitar and started to perform in live shows. In 2014, she won a competition, ‘London’s Calling’, which included Jimmy Napier in the judging panel. She continues to write songs and record for films.
