Scott L. Rogers is a nationally recognized leader in the area of mindfulness and law, and teacher, author, and trainer. He is founder and director of the Institute for Mindfulness Studies and of the University of Miami School of Law’s Mindfulness in Law Program and he co-founded and co-directs the University of Miami’s Mindfulness Research & Practice Initiative.

Scott invites you to join him in the exploration of mindfulness as both a personal and professional practice.

Scott W. Rogers, 62, of Davenport, Iowa, died Friday, March 31, 2023, at home.

A hospitality gathering to celebrate Scott’s life with food and drinks will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at CityView Celebrations at Trimble Pointe (Lower Level), 701 12th Street, Moline, Illinois. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. In lieu of flowers, memeorial may be made to the family.

Scott Wesley Rogers was born April 19, 1960, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Jimmie and June Rogers. He married the love of his life, Christine Werner, on May 29, 2001, in Davenport, Iowa.

He worked in retail most of his life, most recently at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Davenport, where he had a close and loving relationship with his co-workers. Previously he had worked for Walmart and Schnucks.

Scott was a member of Hope Church in Bettendorf. He loved fishing, woodworking, and hunting,

Scott is survived by his wife, Christine; his parents, Jimmie Rogers of Bettendorf, and June Watkins of Davenport; his brother, Shawn Rogers of Bettendorf; step-brothers, Fred and Jerry Watkins; his beloved dogs Gracie, Sam, and Louie; and a host of good friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Rogers.

When asked how Scott was doing, his common response was “Never better!”, and we are certain that is the case with him now.
